Today we are launching Wizard Tags and a rebuilt Asset Management in Wizard Application. Stick a tag on anything your business owns, tap it with a phone and you know what it is, where it belongs and who has it.
What is a Wizard Tag?
A Wizard Tag is a 22 mm round NFC tag with the Wizard W on it. It is small and slim enough for a key ring, a laptop lid or the handle of a tool. You set each one up in seconds with the Wizard Application app on iPhone or Android, and from then on a tap opens that asset.
- Locked once it is set up. Every tag is locked as soon as it is written, so nobody can change where it points.
- Copies do not count. A tap counter on the chip goes up with every tap, and Wizard Application only accepts a count it has not seen before. A link copied from an earlier tap, or typed in from a photo, does not count as a scan.
- Ordered from your workspace. Order Wizard Tags from inside Wizard Application, or add them when you sign up.
Check out and check in with a tap
When someone takes something, they tap its tag and check it out with a time it is due back. When they return it, they tap again and check it in. If a colleague needs it next, they hand it straight over without bringing it back to the office first.
- A reminder before it is due. Whoever has it gets a reminder before it is due back.
- Overdue at a glance. See who has what across the whole team, and anything that is late.
- Only a real tap counts. Team members can only check out, check in or hand over something they have just scanned, so the record matches what actually happened.
Everything your business owns in one place
Asset Management keeps one register of all of it, from IT equipment and tools to machinery, furniture, keys and event kit. Every asset gets its own asset number, a type, a location and a department, plus the details that matter to you.
- Custom fields for each asset type. Serial numbers for laptops, calibration dates for tools, or whatever else you need to record.
- Things that belong together. Link a charger to its laptop, or a set of keys to the van they open.
- Purchase and warranty details. With a reminder before a warranty runs out.
- List and board views. Move assets between Available, Checked out, Overdue and In repair.
- Attachments. Keep receipts, manuals and photos with the asset.
Company vehicles fit in too, with their MOT, road tax, insurance and service dates and a mileage log.
A full audit history
Every check-out, hand-over, move and change is recorded with who did it and when. When a laptop goes missing or an auditor asks about a piece of equipment, the answer is already there. Roles decide who can see and change assets.
Prefer labels or a desk reader?
You do not need Wizard Tags to use Asset Management. Print QR labels for any asset, or keep a USB reader at a desk to scan things as they go out and come back. Android phones can also scan tags in Chrome without the app.
