The system validates every change. If a proposed reporting line would create a loop (A → B → C → A) or self-management, it's blocked before it saves and a clear error explains why.
The chart is wired directly into Wizard Application's HR data, there's no separate database. New starters appear automatically; leavers drop off when their record is deactivated.
