Keeper is a business password manager built around zero-knowledge encryption, with low per-user pricing, strong admin controls and add-ons for secrets and privileged access. Wizard Application includes a password vault too, but it sits inside the same workspace as your projects, customers, HR and help desk, and it is included on every plan.
If you are choosing between them, this guide sets out how they compare, where each one is strong, and which kind of business each suits best.
At a glance
| Wizard Application | Keeper | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Included on every plan, including the free Starter plan, with no separate vault licence | Business Starter £2, Business £3.50 and Enterprise from £5 per user per month, billed annually, plus VAT |
| Limits | Starter 15 entries, Standard 50, Professional and Enterprise unlimited | Business Starter for 5 to 10 users |
| Encryption | AES-256-GCM with a key from your master password (PBKDF2-SHA256, 600,000 iterations). The master password is never stored. The browser extension decrypts on your device. The web app unlocks the vault on our servers for your session and locks it after 15 minutes idle. | Zero-knowledge: data is encrypted and decrypted on your device |
| Browser extensions | Chrome and Firefox (the Chrome build also runs in Edge and Brave). Fills a matching login in one click, copies usernames and passwords, and locks itself. | Autofill across browsers and apps |
| Apps | Web app, plus iOS and Android apps that run the web app. No desktop apps or mobile autofill yet. | Apps across devices and browsers |
| Sharing | Being rebuilt with per-person encryption keys. Owner, Admin, Editor and Viewer roles are in place. | Record and folder sharing, time-limited access and one-time shares with people outside Keeper |
| Security extras | Password generator in the web app, and entry types for logins, notes, SSH keys, API keys, environment variables, AWS, GitHub, tokens and database credentials | Passkeys, 2FA codes and payment cards, with breach monitoring and compliance reports as add-ons |
| Not included | No import tool, passkey storage, 2FA code generator, breach monitoring or emergency access yet | Not a business platform: projects, customers, HR and support run in other tools |
| Beyond passwords | CRM, recruitment, HR, projects, help desk, team chat, documents, time tracking and invoicing in the same workspace | Add-ons for secrets management, privileged access and credential rotation |
Where Keeper is strong
Keeper stores passwords, passkeys, files and infrastructure secrets with zero-knowledge encryption, and autofills passwords, passkeys, payment cards and 2FA codes across apps and browsers. It can share records with individuals or teams, including time-limited and one-time shares with people outside Keeper. The Business plan adds shared team folders, delegated administration and a free Family Plan for every user, Enterprise adds SCIM, AD and LDAP, single sign-on and role-based access control, and add-ons cover secrets management, breach monitoring and compliance reporting.
Where Wizard Application is different
- No separate bill. The password vault is part of Wizard Application on every plan, so you are not paying a password manager per user on top of the tools your team already uses.
- Credentials next to the work. Logins, API keys, SSH keys and database credentials sit in the same workspace as your projects, customers, help desk and HR.
- Built for technical teams too. Typed entries for SSH keys, environment variables, AWS, GitHub, tokens and databases keep developer secrets out of chat and shared documents.
- One login and one set of permissions. Your team signs in once, with two-factor authentication or passkeys, and the same role-based permissions control the vault and everything else. People joining or leaving are handled in one place.
- Fill logins in the browser. The browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox decrypt your vault on your device and fill a matching login in one click.
Where Wizard Application is behind
We would rather you choose with the full picture. A dedicated password manager does more today:
- Encryption model. Your entries are encrypted at rest and the master password is never stored, so a copy of our database on its own is unreadable. The browser extension decrypts only on your device. The web app, though, unlocks your vault on our servers while you use it, which dedicated password managers do not do. We are moving the web app to decrypt on your device too.
- Sharing. Sharing an entry with a teammate is being rebuilt so that every person has their own encryption keys.
- Fewer features. There is no import tool, passkey storage, 2FA code generator, breach monitoring, emergency access, Safari extension, desktop app or offline access yet, and the extension cannot save new logins.
Which should you choose
Keeper may suit you better if you want a dedicated zero-knowledge password manager with strong admin controls, passkeys and 2FA codes, time-limited sharing, or add-ons for secrets and compliance.
Wizard Application may suit you better if you want a straightforward team vault included with the software you run the business on, you are already paying for separate tools for projects, customers, HR and support, and you would rather have one platform and one bill.
Moving from Keeper
There is no import tool yet, so entries are added in the Wizard Application vault. Keep Keeper running while your team moves across, then export your Keeper data and store it securely before you close the account.
When you are ready to compare the two properly, see our pricing or explore the password vault.
